With ctrlX DRIVE, Bosch Rexroth has developed the most compact modular drive system in the world for its customers. In addition to space-saving dimensions and maximum scalability, ctrlX DRIVE boasts advantages such as virtually unlimited combination options for users, sophisticated engineering tools, and high energy efficiency.
ctrlX WORKS, the practical software and engineering toolbox from ctrlX AUTOMATION, stands for simple engineering and significantly reduces effort and costs. Completely new scope for action is opened up in the creation, provision and use of functions. ctrlX WORKS already contains an extensive range of high-performance libraries and components for typical automation tasks. For the user, this offers maximum flexibility through a comprehensive range of software and programming tools. The ctrlX App Store and the ctrlX AUTOMATION Community complete the services for engineering and programming.

Digital twins – i.e. digital representations of tangible or intangible objects or processes – are playing an increasingly important role in the engineering process. In addition to the possibility of virtual commissioning of motion programs using the ctrlX COREvirtual with 3D simulation of the kinematics under consideration, simulation models for the extensive range of Bosch Rexroth drives and motors are available to the user. This allows different application scenarios for various simulation systems available on the market (MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica-based systems and ISG Virtuos) to be built. SafeMotion is based on the modular, configurable drive system ctrlX DRIVEplus and has a scalable scope of functions. It is available for general applications as well as with extended functions for the most demanding requirements. At the same time, a purely drive-based safety solution can be achieved with this system, independently of the higher-level control system.

SafeMotion offers extensive safety functions up to SIL3 in connection with parameterizable safe logic for single axes. Due to the support of common fieldbus and safety protocols, SafeMotion can be easily integrated into various ecosystems.

The safety functions are available in three packages: "Speed", "Position", and "SIL3+". For the selection methods, you can choose between safe I/O, ctrlX SAFETYlink, and safe fieldbus.
